Just Watched: Your Lie in April

It took me forever to finish it. For some reason, I was not keen on watching it in the beginning even though I’m a huge Kento fan. I don’t know. My mood was all over the place with this one. Part of me wants a mature romance Japanese movie and Your Lie is circa high school students. I was expecting cheesy romance.

Currently Watching: Kaitou Tantei Yamaneko

If you are currently watching this drama, mmmmeeeeow to you!!!! And if you aren’t, come and join the meow club! It’s fun! And if you’re like me, I’m sure you look forward to Kaitou Tantei Yamaneko‘s new episode. The show is funny, witty and packs with kickass pows! And it can’t be helped that Kamenashi is in it. My rendezvous with Kame’s Second Love and Tokyo Bandwagon really became my determination factor for me to watch this drama. I quite like Kame’s acting. From a suave hottie to a calm collective character (based on the dramas I’ve seen on him), Kame is a completely different persona in Kaitou Tantei Yamaneko. He’s playful; he is cheeky; he is arrogant; he is a jerk and mysterious; and yet, he is the master of modern Robin Hood! Yamaneko, as he is known for, means a phantom thief. Just like Robin Hood! So what’s not to like, right? And since he hides behind a cat mask, he is moving swiftly like a cat!

This show is based on a novel of the same title. It was published 10 years ago and it finally adapted into a drama this year. The story is simple. Yamaneko is a sophisticated yet mysterious thief. He uses sophisticated technology to steal money and fortune from villains! But these villains are not just the next door villains kind, they are villains with a purpose to destroy the country. Arms with a genius hacker and reporter as his sidekicks, Yamaneko uses them to expose these villains’ corrupted plans. Though it sounded super intense, Yamaneko made the whole process flawless and fun!

Right now, I do not know how long the series is. It could be a typical 11 episodes drama, but so far I have seen 7 episodes.  The show is filled with lunatic characters and I must say it has gone a bit intense since episode 6. I’m looking forward to watch episode 8 (which I should start watching it soon). I really do not want to spoil you much but there is a meaning to each character. I am particularly interested with Hideo, the innocent-looking reporter. Reporter is a reporter, right? They sure know how to disguise themselves in the public. He acted all dumb but you know, he may just playing the character Yamaneko wants to see. I don’t know, I could be wrong so we shall see about that. Mao is a typical text book yet smart hacker teenager. So her personality is there on the table for us to see.

Kaitou Tantei Yamaneko is a must watch drama. Kame’s sillyness as Yamaneko really pulls the cast together. Behind that handsome face, Kame is a true chameleon with his ability to switching the mood all in one scene! His random meows throughout the show really added colors to this show. I highly recommend you to watch this drama. A pure brilliant entertaining yet amusing to your intellectual mind!
