Surprisingly, I am watching sageuk again. I believe Queen for Seven Days is my second one this year. The first one was with my Yoo Seung Ho in Ruler. And I also started Six Flying Dragons early this week with Mari. Trust me, I have more historical dramas to watch. Now that I am no longer allergic to sageuk, I will watch more and more. Be prepared *wink*.
Erl: We’re back and we’re in for another bumpy and surprising ride. At this point, I stopped thinking anything is going to be relatively mellow with this drama. It has the element of surprise in spades that even if you think that you’ve got a clear grasp of the cause and effect; you’re still at a disadvantage cause it can sneak up on you anytime. You’ll never know when it would tilt the whole table in the opposite direction which is fun and definitely keeps you on your toes. Not to mention somewhat aggravating but all in a good way, so good that you’ll be wishing the next episode comes sooner than expected.
Me: I am hoping for a Healer pace! I want it to be more action… You think we will get it?
Me: We back up a little bit and gets the explanation about the real creator of W.
Mari: So everyone was right! How did I completely missed the fact that Oh YeonJoo was drawing a version of Kang Chul as a child?
Nelly: Sorry, ladies. I must be dreaming. Younger YeonJoo in previous episode and current doesn’t match. Am I crazy? And Mari, it was obvious when her parents were quarreling and she was in tears with a drawing of Kang Chul on her desk.
Me: And now I see why Kang Chul is dreamy, a teenager created him!
Nelly: Would you like to see my dreamy fantasy character in my manhwa? *giggle* He’s so very handsome, too! And tall!
Mari: I want to draw my own boyfriend! But I’m afraid that teen me & current me have very different taste. We only agree that they have to be male. Also, 185 cm is my perfect (favorite?) height.
Me: I think the tall part is a requirement for every teenager’s dream boy. Back then I like tall boys, around 182cm to 187cm. Well, those were the days.
Me: You can really see Yeon-Joo’s determination to save him, I mean man haven’t had that big a blister on my hand from holding a pen for a long time.
Mari: blisters hurt! She’s working through the pain to get him back. He better appreciates her work. Also how long do you guys think she was drawing for? All the blisters I gotten on my hands took less than half an hour.
Nelly: Hmm is it that bad? I haven’t had blisters in years. But did you see her drawing? I don’t like how she drew Kang Chul! I need him to be perfect! *angry fan*
Me: I agree Nell, we want him to be perfect. She’ll nail it eventually. And hey, looky, I think she just did. Her efforts weren’t futile, he’s back – they’re back inside W!
Nelly: Yup, I was so happy that they made it back!
Mari: She’s so happy to be back in jail, lol. Look at his hands they are still scaring. So the story is acknowledging that he really left the manhwa?
Nelly: Now would that be in the manhwa? I mean, if we are to read it now, do we actually see that he entered our world and went back to W?
Me: That’s a good question Nell, and one that we will have to wait answers for. For now let’s digest how worried Kang Chul’s staff is about him, and how all he wants to do is speed walks out to meet Yeon-Joo!
Nelly: Heh, he’s in love. I would do the same too.
Mari: ugh, she’s here! Go away! I guess I should like her for not thinking Kang Chul tried to kill himself. As for the bodyguard… Pretty!
Nelly: The bodyguard is hot! I just want to run my hand over his shoulder… Hmm.
Mari: he does have excellent shoulders! I like your idea.
Me: Of course he needs an explanation, he always needs an explanation!
Mari: Are we ignoring the fact that one tiny girl has a ridiculous police escort? How rich is Kang Chul? I’m going to assume he is Bruce Wayne rich in W. Because a normal person stopping a police car in that fashion would be in jail. Also yes!! I’m here for the sweet romance! I’m ok with your choice of genre Oh YeonJoo.
Nelly: I agree, that is a ridiculous amount of taxpayers’ money to escort her in that massive prison bus! Oh Mari, Kang Chul and Bruce Wayne… *bats lashes*.
Me: Sad to see the world, people and everything about you know about the same way once you know the truth. Gives a different meaning to “the truth will set you free.” It sort of sounds like the truth can torture you…
Nelly: I’m not sure if I can breathe… The truth is hard to swallow.
Mari: Basically how do you keep on functioning when you know you are not real?
Me: But not likely the way Yeon-Joo’s being tortured the second time around.
Nelly: Did you see her expression? She can’t even pull a straight face!
Mari: I would either burst into tears or hysterical laughing. This cop is very cartoonish. I was expecting a fire to come out of his head.
Me: I am as surprised as Yeon-Joo when Kang Chul reproached her. After being so tender the night before, what is possessing you now? What’s keeping your panties in a twist?
Nelly: Your “panties in a twist” remark got me laughing so hard, Erl! But yeah, I’m with you. What the hell, Kang Chul? What the eff are you talking about? Do you really want to die? Is it the truth too hard to bear now?
Mari: I’m with him on this. What is he? Since he is not real does that mean he no longer has a free will? What’s the purpose of his life if he is not hunting his family’s killer. He finally made a decision on his own, and Oh YeonJoo took his choice away.
Me: See, you’re not so tough after all Kang Chul! I know that’s a tear rolling down your cheek!
Nelly: For the first time, I wanted to slap his pretty face! He was acting so irrational! This isn’t him at all!
Mari:look at his skin!!! So beautiful!
Me: *Melting right now, mind can’t think..*
Nelly: In the back of my mind, I wonder if his breath smells better! Sorry, I’m a party pooper. Jong Suk smokes!
Mari: so…. How does she go back in this time? Is it like the time in the ocean? Is it really that he was thinking of her & that brought her back?
Me: *Still melting, possibly a puddle by now*
Nelly: *grabs Dexter and kisses him and pretending that he is Kang Chul* urgh, I got hair in my mouth!
Mari: I love the handcuffs over his head for more comfortable kissing.
Me: Next thing we know she get’s a visit from Do-Yoon. He was sent to relay a message. And I seriously almost spit my coffee when I heard it.
Nelly: Why didn’t she pick option 4??? *shakes head* It was so obvious what Kang Chul wants! Now it is not the time to play innocent, doc!
Mari:I said this on Twitter my heart wants 4! But my brain would pick number 1. My brain is boring…
Me: I think I’ll go for number 4. LOL. And the decision is all because of what he is wearing. That should go! NOW!
Nelly: She clearly wants option 4! Even her hands said so, too! *laughs*
Mari: there are clothes not even he can save… This suit is one of those pieces that’s a no!!!
Me: Yes, Sir, he’s really gonna be married with Yeon-Joo.
Nelly: This exit plan… Forget the plan, Kang Chul’s suit is more disturbing at the moment!!!!!
Mari: I guess having money makes things easy, but in RL I doubt netizens would let this go so easily.
Me: Not in fifty years netizens won’t! There’s gonna be blood. LOL. I love how Yeon-Joo’s just nodding away while this is all happening. What a turn of event!
Nelly: And the ring is so modest looking. I approve!
Mari: Why is the bodyguard doing all the work? Where’s Kang Chul? Wait is this going to be THAT type or relationship??!!! I’m kidding! I’m kidding ignore me!!!!
Me: Not gonna happen Mari, you can’t be ignored. It does look off that someone else is giving a wedding ring by proxy but.. Well, he’s rich and she just had a big leap. From being chased and jailed to being the CEO’s wife. Whirlwind!
Nelly: It’s been my dream, actually… *grin*. Can someone call me ma’am, now?
Mari: I would love to have someone does my cleaning. But my house is tiny. I need a bigger house!
Me: Yeon-Joo needs to think of locking the door first before checking a drawer of underwear…
Nelly: I was giggling with her terribly! I am glad she didn’t smell his underwear… She is, after all, infatuated with him!
Mari: he does not look like a boxers type. His pants are too skinny for boxers. Also, I would had looked in my shoe closet first.
Me: I think I’m with Kang Chul here, how is tying the hair sweet? I’m really distracted, though, that illustration reminds me of a Chinese Novel I read… Wow, what are the odds?
Nelly: I screamed so hard on this scene! This is my fantasy!!! I want my man to tie my hair, too!!!! Also, where can I get that book???
Mari: I don’t get this hair thing. I love playing with guys hair but I never ever had a guy “fix” mine. Yet I have seen it a lot in Kdramas. It’s a bit odd to me.
Me: RAWR! More fun times.
Nelly: Oh, I can’t. Kang Chul is the man of the hour now!!! Can I have an order of Kang Chul with a side of Kang Chul, please?
Mari: Do I start my rant now or enjoy the cute?
Me: Yeah, I would completely like it too if I was married to that cutie.
Nelly: When I saw the ring on his long, long finger… *fans self*
Me: Now this is sweet. Where can I buy a copy of this book? And God, I can’t with this two. My cheeks are on fire!
Nelly: When he bit his lower lips… I was so dead! Yes, I need this book now!!!
Mari: dammit the lip biting again.. Sigh*
Me: But sadly that’s the end of fun times since Kang Chul needs to meet Do-Yoon. What could be the problem?
Nelly: Talk about timing!
Mari: I’ll take care of Do-Yoon. You can stay and continue to fangirl.
Me: I was not expecting that. Who is this disembodied voice from nowhere?
Nelly: I know, right??? Like I said previously, is this a manhwa in another manhwa? The only way I could think is this voice came from the creator. Whoever that is! Or I could be hallucinating. Either way, this voice is disturbing on so many levels! Why is it appear when he’s alone?
Mari: who is this? I have several theories I was shooting out into Twitter world. Who is it?
Me: Does this mean that because So-Hee is now a minor part of Kang Chul’s body, she’s now obsolete? I kind of feel sad for her.
Nelly: At first, I thought she came from our world. But now I’m with you, Erl. She’s getting written out of the story… Goodbye, So Hee. I will miss your fancy clothes and shoes. That’s all.
Mari: So that’s what happens to fictional characters when their arcs finish.
Me: And you say she’s manipulating you. You’re completely in love with her buddy, all on your own accord!
Nelly: I shall feed him chilies for traumatizing her with his cruel accusation! She is the real deal! Her feeling is so genuine! She created him with lots of love!
Mari: Are we ready for my rant yet?
Me: Culprit guys means business. And now I’m dying to know about him!
Nelly: I know!!!! Who the eff he is??? My mind is wild, right now? Could it be him from the future? That is my stupid wild mind that said it! Don’t mind me!
Mari: Is he planning to shoot the letters?
Me: I loved this episode! The big leap, the clarification. And I kind of thought that the focus on “romance” is just temporary, but I love that they got it out of the way. I mean I am glad that they cleared that they are really into each other. Now I was expecting Kang Chul to feel like he’s being toyed because since knowing that he’s a manhwa character, it sort of opened his mind that he has no free will. But knowing that it was all an act of love from Yeon-Joo’s point of view makes a lot of difference. There’s a genuine feeling established there and not just manipulation.
I was at the edge of my seat when the disembodied voice from somewhere mentioned about Kang Chul’s family’s murder mostly because Yeon-Joo’s dad mentioned that there’s no culprit and then this? Makes me want Kang Chul to go back and confront Yeon-Joo’s dad again, without the gun this time.
Nelly: I took my time with catching up on this episode because I wanted to have a clear mind. I’m glad I did. So many developments in this episode. I’m glad that they spill their own feelings in their own ways… The exit plan was a bit too much, though. It is so unrealistic even to her but she went with it anyway and so am I.
I am now curious on this Assasin’s Creed dude. He’s Kang Chul’s worse nightmare. He is Kang Chul’s own demon! He took all of Kang Chul’s happiness and now want to take Yeon Joo away from him.
Mari: I both loved and hated this episode. Yes, that’s possible. I love it as a fan girl that completely wants to ship the OTP. I disliked it as a person that thinks too much. Mainly because Kang Chul’s change from indignation to adorable man in love was too fast. Mostly because Oh YeonJoo is writing the comic now. She’s madly in love with him. So how can we be sure that what he is feeling is real and not her feelings being transposed to him? Does he have no free will now? The only thing that’s keeping happy is that he already cared for her before she took over.
That kiss on the roof was part of the goodbye kiss, part I find you interesting and unique. Also, she’s been pulled into the manhwa twice now while neither her or dad are drawing. She briefly mentioned in prison that she came back because he was thinking about her.
Lastly, who is the hooded figure? Is he really faceless? Did writer Oh also create him & give him life like he did to Kang Chul? So now the killer is just a phantom that can exist in both worlds? So many questions!
Me: Yes, my heart can’t take it, too!
Alice has nothing on how confused I am with this episode. We have a lot of stories to cover so there will be less time to fangirling. We spend most of our time with Oh YeonJoo dealing with the aftermath of Kang Chul’s visit to “real Seoul”.
Nelly: Remember when he shot Yeon Joo was shot and was fine? I wonder if Writer Oh would survive, too. It’s impossible if his gun works in real world. Impossible! I wreck my brain thinking of this! Am I crazy?
Erl: That’s what I am thinking! I mean technically it’s not a real gun, so will Yeon Joo’s dad survive? *bites nails*
Me: Oh YeonJoo heard the shots & left her cab in a sprint only to find the paramedics working on her dad. Dad is rushed to the hospital with both the paramedics & Oh YeonJoo work to keep him alive. While all this going on I keep hoping it’s a fake out! Someone is going to tell me Kang Chul only pretended to do this!
Nelly: Exactly! I was hoping so, too! I was surprised that Kang Chul shot him! He really wanted to make a point there! That he is not what Writer Oh thinks he is!
Erl: I’m with you girls, I really hope it’s a fake out I mean just look at Yeon Joo, she’s so broken.
Me: While dad is in surgery Park SooBong tells Oh YeonJoo that Kang Chul shot Writer Oh (he calls him Teacher but I been calling him Writer so let’s just call him Writer Oh). He keeps reproaching Oh YeonJoo for saving Kang Chul’s life. Dude!!! I think she feels guiltily enough already, please don’t add more weight to her guilt.
Nelly: Why do I keep remembering his name as Bong Soo? *laughs* You’re right, Mari. The guilt on her shoulder is too heavy.
Erl: Bong Soo? Not Bingsu? ^_^ Sorry, too hot here. Anyways, you ladies are precise, I agree. She’s suffering enough as it is, stop tormenting her!
Me: A rare Kang Chul sighting in this episode! Get me a pokeball! I have to catch him! (sorry, my life just blurred together) Kang Chul has stopped by the hospital to drop off a letter for Oh YeonJoo. (This is not looking good, what are you going to do boy?)
Nelly: Go catch a pokeMan instead, Mari! *giggle*
Erl: Definitely not looking good but can we note that he handed a letter instead of talking to her in person. Does that mean that he can’t bear to leave her or something? Is he in love her? Is he afraid he’ll change his mind? What kind of pokeMan is he? (My life is as blurred as Mari’s.)
Me: Dad makes it through the surgery but it’s still in intensive care. The next morning Oh YeonJoo gets a call from her dad’s publisher. They have been send a new episode of W (what? How is this possible? Who send it, who is drawing this?)
Nelly: My thoughts exactly! Who drew it? It can’t be Kang Chul. It can’t be Yeon Joo. I’m starting to have a new theory here, ladies. Is it possible? Should I say it now?
Erl: Say it, say it! I’m so lost right now, I’ve pulled my hair thrice!
Me: Oh YeonJoo asks the publisher to send her a copy and she’s shocked to see that everything that has happened recently is in it. Kang Chul crossing over, the rooftop kiss and dad being shot. There’s also what happened after Kang Chul shot Writer Oh. We see him dispose of the gun, and like Writer Oh had taunted him earlier, Kang Chul can’t live with the guilt and heads to bridge. He jumps off & we see him floating. We also see the words “The End” in the bottom of the page. (let’s take a few minutes to process this with Oh YeonJoo)
Nelly: The End? What??????? Maldoandwae! Impossible!!!! *pulls hair*
Erl: Nooooo!!! Aren’t we just in Episode 6, how is it the end already? *checks Wikipedia* I knew I was not seeing things, it says 16 episodes. What’s happening here?
Me: Writer Oh wakes up and he is told of Kang Chul’s end. Park SooBong & Oh YeonJoo also tell him about the chapter & how they came up with a way to explain what happen. They release the comic & then say Writer Oh had a nervous breakdown because of his work & tried to kill himself.
Nelly: I would commit suicide if I were Writer Oh! It’s absurd!
Erl: He was slowly dying anyways already, what with all the alcohol.
Me: Fans of “W” are not happy with the ending and the publishers beg Oh YeonJoo to convince her dad to change it. She knows he won’t and let them know.
Nelly: I have to say Yeon Joo said the right thing. I would want to protect my dad, too.
Erl: Here, here. She’s a filial daughter.
Me: I was so sad during this lines! She says them like she’s trying to convince herself too!
Nelly: Right? But I had a good laugh as well… It is, after all, just another manhwa! No biggie! Life goes on, people! Do I sound too cruel?
Erl: Yes Nelly, you sound cruel, I love it, though. Let me just say, how do you convince someone else if you can’t even convince yourself to think that it is just a manhwa?
Me: Oh YeonJoo can’t let go. That night she talks to her dad. Yes Writer Oh, tells us what happens? I always wonder myself.
Nelly: I always wonder myself, too. My imagination can go wild if I don’t curb it!
Erl: Yes, let us in on the secret, please. We’re dying to know!
Me: Writer Oh tells her he won’t change the end. He tried but he could not, the drawing pad refuse to let him. He also tells her that he won’t change the ending because she’s become a main character in the story. She can’t be the main character because she’s real.
Nelly: I still can’t believe no one recognizes her! I mean, the whole country is reading on this manhwa!
Erl: Well, they didn’t recognize Kang Chul as well right?
Nelly: Yup! Are people dumb?
Nelly: I died laughing too!
Erl: It’s hilarious! And I had a realization, most doctors in k dramas don’t usually wash their hair. I’m looking at you DotS.
Me: Oh YeonJoo excuses herself from the date & goes to bathroom. While on the phone with her coworkers she finds herself submerged under water and see Kang Chul floating there. She tries to swim to him but can’t reach him.
Nelly: I thought she gave up too easily!!!!
Erl: How did she got dragged in? Is it because she jokingly asked her coworker for a weekly blind date?
Me: She rushes back to the table & asks to use their phone. She scrolls through the last episode of W and sees the last frame has been changed.
Nelly: *gasp* oh my god! Is this a dream?????????
Erl: YAY! I knew it, it’s not goodbye! There’s more to come.
Nelly: Yeap, she decided to wash her hair! Blind date is off!
Erl: Quickly, rescue the prince in distress. Another role reversal, keep it coming!
Me: while they both tried to figure out how the ending change & why it changed. We are taken to the bridge where Kang Chul jumped from & a person dressed in black stand on top. This is the figured that tried to kill Kang Chul multiple times.( how is he here? He is now in Oh YeonJoo world, how?)
Nelly: who the f*ck is he???? why don’t we see his story anywhere in the manhwa? a doppelganger?
Erl: I think you’re right Nelly, he’s a doppelganger! And he’s not in the story because Writer Oh got lazy to write about him. Remember when he said Kang Chul’s family got killed off so he can be a better hero?
Me: Oh YeonJoo gets Park SooBong to draw scenes for W but nothing seems to be working. Disheartened they take a break into he has an idea.
Nelly: Why can’t YeonJoo do it?
Erl: Yes, why can’t she. She can totally do it, I saw a scene earlier, she was young and she draws quite well.
Me: next scene we have Oh YeonJoo on the floor of a jail cell & Kang Chul jumping, being rescued & waking up in his bed. They are both back inside W.
Nelly: This episode went fly too fast! I was confused and stunned at the same time. What and how are all over my face right now!
Erl: Look how happy Yeon Joo is. I’m a having a whiplash but also happy that Kang Chul’s alive and They’re back in manhwa world. Bizarre, but I crave for more.
Me: Not enough Kang Chul in this episode! But I like the way the story is going. I’m starting to believe that theory I seen floating all over that Kang Chul is Oh YeonJoo’s creation. Not that her father stole her idea, but that she created a version of him & her dad based him on her daughter’s idea. I’m very sad there might not be any episodes this week because of the Olympics. I guess I can watch 1-6 again while I wait.
Nelly: I don’t mind the wait…. But I’m really curious what is going to happen next! I love the development so far despite some flaws. I agree with Mari, not enough Kang Chul in this episode. Is this means he gets less pay too? *laughs* Sorry, I can’t help it! Ooooh, before I forget, back to my theory! Could it be that we are watching a manhwa within a manhwa? And that the man in the robe (wannabe Assasin’s Creed) is the true writer who wants to kill all of his characters? Does my theory make sense at all? Am I crazy?
Erl: I’m gonna slow down on the theories cause wow! This is a whole new ballgame right here, anything can happen. I do agree with Mari that it’s possible that Kang Chul is really Yeon Joo’s creation, there are scenes to prove that. Which means Kang Chul is right, Yeon Joo is indeed the key to his existence. I would love to see this play out but I guess maybe we’ll have to wait for two weeks to find out. Speaking of Olympics, the South Korean Shooting Athlete placed 2nd on the Men’s 10m Air Pistol event. Not really relevant, just wanted to share. ^_^
Nelly: Notice the difference? We are officially fangirling! No more recapping lol. RJWQ and Mari are right! *wink*
Me: yes! Fangirling (is this a real word?) makes more sense!
Nelly: Nope, Webster hasn’t accepted it yet lol
Me: OMG! Was this episode good? I love it! It gave us so much information on our hero. I remember reading a few reviews and people were saying that they could not feel anything for our main character because they did not know him. Well, we have all the info! Let’s go!!
Nelly: My head is about to explode! Wow!!!!
Erl: It’s info overload! OVERLOAD! Something is about to short circuit.
Me: Kang Chul is now walking around in “Real Seoul” and after seeing an advertisement for “W” he heads to a bookstore! Smart cookie! I must add once again.. Hot when wet!
Erl: I have a question. Is that bookstore doing well? Where are the customers? How come it seems so empty? How come nobody approached him when he started opening the packages? Hmmmm.. *scratches chin*
Me: lol. I wonder the same thing! Why did no one ever come check on the hot crazy guy in the manhwa display?
Nelly: Yeap, why don’t anyone recognizes him???? Are they all stupid or something?
Me: Kang Chul decides he has to read up on his whole life story. He reads all 33 volumes and we are given lots of cool memories? Flashbacks? Also, I tried to capture his lip biting in action, I fail miserably.
Nelly: *licks herself* cuties! Wait wait wait… 33 volumes? He sure enjoyed reading on… himself *laughs*
Erl: 33 Volumes in one day? Wow! Just wow! I can’t even begin to imagine how he feels, seeing his whole life in pages after pages of comic books.
Me: no contex I just liked them!
Erl: Bromance? Anyone?
Nelly: Bromance it is!
Me: I love that his second stop was her! Girl, how did you forget your fiancé already?
Erl: Make sense, though. It seems everybody knows she’s loveless.
Nelly: Well, as a doctor, love is far from her mind.
Me: Rooftop conversation! Girl, why aren’t you jumping him?
Erl: Is there a turn of some sort, maybe we can jump him instead. No? Just a suggestion.
Me: *raises hand to volunteer for this, again*
Nelly: You can always count on Mari!
Me: yes, I did try to get the kiss from every angle! Boy! He does all the work! Girl, how can you just stand there?
Nelly: Good job! Can we get another 360-degree kiss in motion???
Erl: I swear, I watched this scene several times. That kiss is just… It melts you inside, and there’s fluttering too. Sugar!!
Nelly: I think I’m having hot flashes! Got our 360-degree kiss!
Me: she’s lost it! Now all her coworkers think she’s insane & it’s funny!
Erl: If they only knew she’s telling the truth.
Nelly: I can’t help but gasping for her! Oh goodness, she is so full of herself now!
Me: the big confrontation has started! We find out that Oh YeonJoo was not the first person Kang Chul pulled into the Manhwa.
Nelly: My jaw was on the floor!!!!
Erl: Now that’s surprising. I think there’s always a surprise with this show.
Nelly: True that! What else could it be?
Me: holy cow! I knew dad was insane, but he actually stabbed him himself. Also, for those still upset about Kang Chul shooting Oh YeonJoo, we get an explanation here. Kang Chul knew the bullets would not hurt her.
Erl: Which makes sense. He knew all along what’s gonna happen cause he remembers! He’s brilliant!
Nelly: Except I am not brilliant! I was confused! And then I remember… How can a manhwa character be smarter than me?
Me: I have a thing for arms! I also like beds! 2 things in one picture!
Nelly: Give me a bed, a comfortable and a man next to me. Heavenly…
Erl: That’s a gift that keeps giving.
Me: All Kang Chul wants its justice. He demands it from writer Oh. Then his world is shattered when writer Oh tells him he never had a culprit! The killing of his family was just a plot device to give the hero of the story a reason to thrive. He ( writer Oh) basically goats Kang Chul into shooting him!
Nelly: In a way, he deserves it! He asked for it!
Erl: How can he be called an author if he doesn’t have the complete set before jumping in the story? So he just winged it, all those time? Wait.. I thought he cared about his character, why can’t I feel it?
Me: I was reading an interview with 3 author friends & they talked about something related to this. One of them likes to storyboard her writing so she a beginning and end. She needs a foundation while the other 2 just sit & write. They let’s inspiration guide their books. So yes there’s writers that have no clue where their story is going till they get there.
Me: OMG is crazy dad really dead? That was a shot in the chest at close range? So what does that mean for our OTP? Is Kang Chul staying?
Nelly: I don’t know. I’m freaking out now! I’m afraid to watch episode 6 now!
Erl: I’m not sure what’s gonna happen next anymore, I have absolutely no theory whatsoever which is good because it means I’ll be on my toes and probably will bite my nails waiting for what’s to happen.
Oh my god, how are we four episodes in already? This show is so good and moving too fast! Someone, please stop the time!!! Wait, don’t! We need to see the next episode!
Me: He should play a vampire in his next drama. Look how pale he is! I love my man with a bit of color. A bit tan. I think I need my sunglasses now.
Erl: Which sunglasses? The one you wore At the Top? He’d make a good vampire. Until now I’m wondering why wasn’t he in Vampire Idol with Woobin.
Mari: *staring at you guys confused* if you guys don’t want him… That’s totally ok!! Milky skin works for me!
Mari: I’m glad that he knows all the problems he has had lately don’t make any sense. Especially going to the roof without his bodyguard! But I’m still wondering if there’s more than just her dad trying to kill him.
Erl: Yes, think about it, the things happening to you, it doesn’t make any sense!
Me: I mean, yeah… He appeared out of nowhere! How? Why? Kang Chul ah…. Did you see a hole in the sky? Is he from hell?
Erl: Are you honestly complaining that someone is attending to all of your needs? Cause I don’t think I would.
Me: Where is my butler? I need one, too!
Mari: but it would be awkward for someone that’s not used to it! Think about it! This is something normal people get done by themselves.
Me: lol I’m feeling the same way too! Oh, my heart…
Erl: My heart goes – dugun, dugun. I love you too, Kang Chul!
Mari: this has the lip biting again!! Lord save my heart!! I wonder how many of those I can survive! Also, I swooned when he said he might be affected by her constantly saying “I love You”
Mari: I’m slowly dying here!! Luv him & I’m suffering from second-hand embarrassment on her behalf!
Erl: At least she admits that she’s a psycho with everything that she’s doing, I’m all good with that.
Me: Who wouldn’t confess to a guy like him? If I can get over with my own shyness, I would do the same, too!
Mari: I hate her!!! So I think we need to talk about her! Sure she thinks she’s doing this to help Kang Chul, but she’s also jealous & spiteful. This had more to do with getting Oh YeonJoo out of his life, then helping him. Also yes, you are boring!
Erl: Correct! She’s trying to play the hero when she is the designated villain. Reminds me of this movie Wreck It, Ralph.
Me: I tend to skip her scene since she’s boring! lol
Erl: I’m expecting the secretary to go batshit but I didn’t expect her to be that ruthless.
Me: She’s just jealous. And I hate that she uses safety excuse to protect Kang Chul! Listen, girl, you can’t even protect yourself!
Mari: she totally walked into a trap!
Me: You’re fired! Goodbye, Soo Hee-ssi! *waves*
Erl: Can we take note of how well he justified firing her cause that speech deserves slow claps.
Mari: I love this! He never sounded angry but all the words he said were aimed to cause damage. He has a point, he can’t work with someone he can’t trust!
Mari:*raises hands in air* I volunteer to cheer him up!!! Me! me! me!
Erl: I think I will never get over how good his lips are. Pouting, frustrated, doesn’t make any difference. Still looks gooood.
Me: I know, right? Gah… it hurts me to see him this pretty!
Erl: That’s the ultimate shocker right there! I can almost hear Kang Chul breaking down.
Me: I can’t believe she told him the truth, though! That’s like slapping Kang Chul’s pretty face again!
Mari: I’m glad he knows! But ahhh how do you react to being told you are not real? Also, how do you explain her disappearance? It’s obviously on CCTV!
Me: When she disappeared, I went beserk on his behalf! Seriously, someone should panic!
Me: Sorry, the truth is harsh. What you see is your reality now!
Erl: Yes, gorgeous, believe it, you’re surrounded by statues.
Me: He crossed to our world!!!! Why Seoul??? Why can’t to DC??? Oh, c’mon, PD-nim!!! *throws cat toys to tv*
Erl: I’m so ready for the next episode! Bring on the shock of Kang Chul’s lifetime!
Mari: In the words of the great Macklemore… “This is f$&(&) awesome!!” Was anyone a bit disappointed we got a “Terminator” landing but he was fully clothed? No fair! Give me more now!
Me: Me! ME! I want butt naked Kang Chul scene!
So are you all ready for more of Kang Chul and his gorgeous lips? *side note: we had to redo episode 2 again! Erl wrote “maybe someone edited it to be gone? Is a writer writing our story? Are we in manhwa, too?*
Mari: can we also talk about his clothes? I love his stylist! Keep giving him nice fitting shirts! His legs kinda freak me out & he has no butt (somewhere Nelly whimpers by the no butt option) and his legs are really long! So where was I going with this? OMG I just realize he is sort of biting his lip here!
Me: le sigh. I’m disappointed with his butt. I prefer my man curvy in that department XD Is he biting his lips? I couldn’t tell. His lips just simply gorgeous. I don’t mind kissing it!
Erl: I wanna bite that lip. Before someone else does. LOL. Let’s see, though, someone’s having a hard time.
Mari: Oh YeonJoo can’t get anyone to believe her story! Also, how has dad managed to keep his story lines secret considering Park SooBong tells Oh YeonJoo everything?
Me: I just want his T-shirt! But shouldn’t Soo Bong knows her dad’s plan for the manhwa? Does he do whatever without planning with his team? I don’t know how a cartoonist works but from what I know, they don’t work alone.
Me: I didn’t know you can get a heart attack when you’re OD with potassium! This is insane. Should I slow down on my banana intake?
Erl: My thoughts exactly! Just when I fell in love with banana. Banana on my bread, banana everywhere.
Mari: I google this (side note: wow there’s a lot of information on the internet & I probably just got off putting with some list) the answer is. It’s possible but it’s not pure potassium (meaning it usually mixed with something else). If I remember my 10-grade science class, pure Potassium explodes when mixed with water & our bodies are water sooooo….) & it has to be injected. In other words Nelly, you can keep eating bananas.
Me: *reaches for her banana*
Mari: did anyone actually believe she was not going to reach him? Also, he needs to fire his bodyguards. How did you not notice the shady nurse?
Erl: I love this twist. You know, the princess saving her prince. This here is awesome. And I really have a thing for strong women.
Me: what’s the big deal? His conclusion is too theoretical. Is she really beautiful? As a man, you should already know the answer.
Mari: once again we have to pretend our girl is ugly? If she’s ugly, someone please get me a paper bag so I can wear it 24/7
Erl: I’ll take one of those paper bags if that someone has an extra.
Mari: puppy!!!!!! This one is a tall drink of water! Perfect for climbing! It still bothers me that he is the “hyung” here.. Sure why not?
Me: How he is a hyung really bothers me, too! But I can’t help judging how huge his face is!
Mari: don’t think as his face being huge. Think of how much space you have for “fun times”
Erl: Yeah, I don’t think his face is that huge too. And he has a really nice nose, piercing eyes..
Me: This scene was cool! Seriously… I would freak out if I see the time moving this fast before my eyes!
Erl: I would probably have a mental breakdown. Gives a new meaning to time goes by so quickly.
Mari: Do you also age when times moves this quickly? If not sign me up!!! Also here’s the part where he shows up in my favorite shirt!!!
Mari: I have no clue why I love this shirt! But it looks amazing on him! Also, if I google this correctly that’s an $90, 000 dollar car our lips is driving!!
Me: That is a ridiculous amount of price for a car! I want to see him crash it! But I agree with you, Mari. He looks god damn beautiful in this jeans shirt!
Erl: Seriously?! That bleeding red car cost that much?! Unbelievable! Oh and I think he looks gorgeous in anything.
Erl: I cringe so much during this scene. It’s genius and embarrassing at the same time.
Mari: I love her brain! Must shock him so I can leave!! What can I do? She’s obviously read a lot or watched many dramas! I’ll admit I would have done the kissing first… But that’s just me!
Me: slap and kiss? Sounds very Thai drama to me lol
Me: Mistake? Pffftttt
Mari: dad is Crazy with a capital C… Also theories? I can’t believe Kang Chul really is a manhwa character. Also, what would you do if you found out you don’t exist? Has anyone seen “The Truman Show”?
Me: OMG Truman Show! Yes! You’re brilliant, Mari!
Mari: take a shot every time Dad tries to kill Kang Chul! (any type of shot just beware of consequences). Also, the main character can’t die!! We will see him soon!
Erl: Soju! Only because I miss it. And I so agree with Mari on this one. This is a 2 episode drama, Kang Chul shall live until the end!
Me: I can’t believe truck of doom is everywhere!
Welcome to W – Two Worlds: Lipseu Recap, where the intention of our recaps is to squee on Lee Jong Suk’s lips. If possible, of course! I hope you enjoy reading our recaps!
Mari: Well! We should also probably talk about the story too considering it’s good. How many times have you read a book or manga & wish to meet the hero/heroine in RL? Which is what happens here! When Oh YeonJoo gets sucked into the world of her favorite Manhwa & she meets the beautiful Kang Chul in the flesh.
Erl: We definitely should talk about the story too, which I think is spectacular! Being sucked in a manga, come on? How’s that not spectacular? And the characters, I say gold. Beautiful Kang Chul and Oh YeonJoo. Oh YeonJoo, how to be you?
Me: I really want to be her character. This is like the dream come true… Except I’m not the character. Yeon Joo is!
Mari: Meet Oh YeonJoo a medical resident ( not sure what year). Judging by the fear she has of her supervisor we assume she’s not very good at her job. Then when we meet her supervisor and our assumptions are confirm by him. The only bright side! He is a huge fan of “W” the current hit Manhwa and it’s beyond himself when he finds out that Oh YeonJoo is the writer’s daughter! He orders her to pump her dad for spoilers.
Me: Isn’t she a residence now? I don’t know… She is too quirky for a doc! But I still love her!
Erl: She’s really quirky, a sentiment worth repeating! She seems to be having a hard time at work too. Also, I’m getting confused, I just saw that actor somewhere and he’s just a college student. LOL
Me: Oh my God, her dad’s assistant is hilarious!
Erl: Right? I like him, I need funny.
Mari: Oh Yeon Joo knows her dad will never give her spoilers so she calls his assistant Park SooBong and it’s told her dad is missing!
Me: Smart move, Yeon Joo!
Me: I screamed! This was super scary! Oh my god!
Mari: the fun begins! Oh YeonJoo rushes to her dad’s house & is told he mysteriously disappeared. While searching in his office she also finds out via Park SooBong that her dad was planning to kill his manhwas main character. Oh YeonJoo can understand this and then suddenly something grabs her coat! And bam! She’s now on top of a rooftop and a bleeding Kang Chul is on lying on the floor!
Erl: The question is, how and why did she end up there?
Me: Do you know I have blood phobia? But Kang Chul makes it really good! I see no blood here!
Erl: I don’t see the scary blood, I see luscious lips, colors draining away but still luscious.
Mari: Oh YeonJoo freaks out for a minute, runs to get help! Then remembers she’s a doctor & does her best to stop the bleeding/help him breathing (by the way!!! There’s no way that pen was sharp enough to penetrate! But I’m letting it go!) Also how can he look so beautiful cover in blood? While he is being wheeled away to an ambulance the word “To be continued” show up on screen and Oh YeonJoo is back in her dad’s office.
Me: Uhm, with a force, you can stab people with a pen! Have you not seen Jason Bourne??? And I have seen this practice in the medical world before… Well, from drama, of course! lol
Me: Why so serious? *laughs*
Erl: Not the joker question, noooo!! I’m digging the blueness of this, and poetically speaking, he’s blue – melancholic.
Mari: filler info on Lips…. I mean Kang Chul. Olympic gold medalist, his family was murdered in cold blood and he was accused of the crime tried & sentenced. In a retrial, he was let go because of insufficient evidence. He then tries to end his life but does not go through with it at last minute. He is now very rich ( more info on how later) Also looks wonderful in the rain!! Let him walk in the rain show!!!
Erl: Not you’re the inspiration? Wait this is not some lyric of a song right? Who’s he talking about?
Me: He is talking about me, right?
Me: Is she sure he’s looking for her? I believe he’s looking for me!
Mari: our unnie is delusional… Ok, Kang Chul survives the attack & now the police ( Kang Chul too) is looking for Oh YeonJoo to figure out what happen on the roof!!
Erl: He’s probably looking for a reason, I think. In any case this here, this trippy scene here is a winner.
Mari: ahhh, so I forgot to add that everything that happened once Oh YeonJoo got to the roof is in now drawn in the manhwa! So she has to go through this trippy feeling of seeing herself in the story!!!
Me: it’s a bit creepy to see yourself drawn into a manhwa. I would freak out too!
Erl: Magically drawn. How long did all that take, though? Drama, give us all you’ve got! We got our freak on!
