Currently Watching: Doctor John

I spent my weekend marathoning Doctor John! I started the first four episodes in Malaysia but did not get to continue. It felt good to continue watching this drama. Ji Sung never fails me and he is the reason I am watching Doctor John. I guess he is the reason I can handle this medical drama. There were not many bloody scenes as I thought it would be; thank goodness I survive. Now before this drama, I know nothing about pain management. But now, I am very curious. Even got me google for it!

Currently Watching: Falling for Innocence

Somehow, this drama was not in my radar whatsoever. I think I was too busy preparing for my work trip to notice Falling for Innocence. Mtoh, my close drama gal, been squee-ing like mad on our KaTalk room and she told how I must watch it. She takes no for an answer. I don’t know why I kinda hesitant to watch it in the beginning. I was worried that it would be another mediocre drama. I hardly watch jtbc network dramas. I’ve seen Heartless City and a couple more from this network. All of them were not a romance comedy drama. So I’m sure you know where I’m going with this, right?

When I started the first episode, I couldn’t focus at all. I was distracted by my chatty son and was still coping with jet lag. But the minute I started to rewatch again, I knew I was ready for it. Why? I ended up watching the first 8 episodes in 3 days and made it in time with the rest of my chingus to watch the latest episode. And I finished watching episode 13 and 14 on Sunday. So can you tell how this show caught my interest big time? It’s too obvious, right? *wink* See my previous post! *giggles* *blushes* Please don’t judge me, I’m only stalking… *grins*

Falling for Innocence is a story of heart. I mean, literally, the main character, Min Ho, played by Jung Kyung Ho, had a change of heart. Min Ho was a ruthless investor. Even since his dad passed away, his uncle snatched his dad’s company and it turned Min Ho to a one, heartless basturd person. Literally, he was a rude basturd! He reminded me of Joo Won, the character Hyun Bin played in Secret Garden. So anyway… Min Ho attended the company meeting with such a bad attitude he offended everyone in the room. Practically, he is that arrogant chaebol you love to hate. But behind his arrogance, he suffers a heart problem. So obviously, as typical kdrama plot goes, he was admitted to the hospital by his secretary, Soon Jung. But his heart was terminally bad that he could have died that night. Fortunately for him, Soon Jung’s fiancee was admitted to the same hospital and is an organ donor. He died from his injury from a “car accident” and Min Ho received his heart to live. The next thing he knew he became less ruthless and more compassion… Heh, he can’t ditch his old self completely and I kinda dig the mean Min Ho to be honest *giggles* But one thing that got his attention… He saw himself changing for better and also started developing a vision through dreams. So what was those visions for?

Soon Jung was his uncle’s secretary and she is now his secretary. When she found her boss on the floor unconscious, she took him to the hospital immediately. Not knowing that Min Ho received her fiancee’s heart, she resorted herself to work in order to forget her fiancee’s sudden death. However, ever since the surgery, she saw her boss differently and the change of heart in him and that he’s more genuine in what he does. She thinks he is grateful for second chance and is genuinely to make a difference in the company.

So where is the angst? Once you’re on top, there are so many people wants to challenge your position. This exact situation is currently happening with Minho the minute he became the president. One of them is Lee Joon Hee. A son to a security guard and childhood friend for Soon Jung, Joon Hee is determined to steal the post from Minho. He threw dirty tricks to shake and threatened Minho’s position but somehow Minho was able to fight back. Lucky!

Despite all that, there’s one thing Minho could do to bring Joon He down. But he doesn’t have enough weapon to do so until the end of episode 14. It would be very interesting to see how he would use his newfound evidence to keep Joon Hee off of his company for good. Falling for Innocence is a 16-episode drama and this week is the finale. To be honest, I’m not ready for it to end. Minho is a joy to watch and that itself is enough to make me love him more and more. He stay true to his quirky, ruthless and basturd character to the end. I highly suggest you watch it. It’s witty and comedy at the same time! WATCH WATCH WATCH!

Currently Watching: Fated To Love You

Before I start this post, let’s start with the biggest laugh you can ever come out with! Hana, deul, set…! Laugh! Laugh as loud as you can, as crazy as you can! Make sure someone could hear it, okay? MUAHAHAHA! Again! MUAHAHAHA! * wipes tears from laughing*. Now that we get it out of our system, let’s focus on my number one romantic comedy of 2014! Fated To Love You! Is it too soon to judge? I mean… August is almost over. What other romcom can beat this show? It’s okay, I’m biased and this is my #1 show for this summer *wink*.

collageFated To Love You is a remake of Taiwanese drama of the same name. I’ve never seen the original and have no desire to watch it at all. It’s Taiwanese drama for heaven’s sake. We all know how crazy it must have been. Even my Kakao girlfriends said nooooo when I asked if I should consider watching that version. They said it turned to something else on the second half of the show. Yeap, am not surprised at all. And surprisingly, the Korean version of Fated did not follow the original plot, it steer away midway of the series. Thank heaven *wipes sweat*. I do not want to be trapped in a crazy drama. I don’t want to be cheated.

Back to this drama. Where should I even begin? Too many cuteness! Too many funny scenes! Too many laughs produced since the starting of this show! If the God of Laughs ever short of laughs, He should just watch Fated To Love You. I’ll guarantee He will not be running out of laughs for century! The OTP, which I never had fate and doubt since the beginning, prove me wrong tremendously. I had a bad start with Jang NaRa. I first saw her in Baby Beauty Face. I thought she was such a weak link in that drama, next to Daniel Choi. He really trumped her big time. But in Fated, her weak-and-sort-of-shaky personality (kinda like sweet chihuahua minus feisty character) really works for her! And as for Jang Hyuk, I don’t recall he ever does romcom. And he too choked me in a good way! *laughs* So the odd pairing are fated for each other it seems! I approve! *thumbs up*

Fated To Love You is presented to us as a couple of unexpectedly falling for each other after they had an accidental one night stand. They were united through there a bun in her oven. But the wedding was treated as a contract which sadly drove Kim Mi Young away from him. Lee Gun, a chaebol of the nth generation, already has someone in mind. But after his marriage to Mi Young, the post-it note girl, he found himself slowly falling for Mi Young as she is towards him. The process of falling in love feels so real in my opinion. I’ve never seen such drama that turns me to a believer. A true L.O.V.E believer. Jang Hyuk convinced me that Gun is really falling for Mi Young. I was speechless when I saw the sparks in his eyes. Wow. Bravo Jang Hyuk. You turned everyone, even anti-fan, to fans! *salute*

*giggles* By now you probably guess what I would say, right? Neh, majayo yeoreobun. This show is daebak. Jang Hyuk and Jang NaRa are daebak. The show is daebak. This 20-episode drama is nearly over. I saw episode 16 yesterday and the couple was united again through fate. But will she embrace him and put her trust on love again? I sure hope so. I want my happy ending. And I want to be as happy as the OTP. MUAHAHAHA.

Currently Watching: Ugly Alert

Ugly Alert was never on my radar. The name itself throw me off. Plus, I never heard of it until I saw my tweeter timeline flying with Ugly Alert tweets between Belinda and Cassie. I really hesitated to watch this drama at the beginning. It took me couple of months to finally said “I do” and mainly it was peer pressure. But apart of peer pressure, Ugly Alert only is available on DarkSmurfSub and it is 133 episode long! Yeah, I screamed too. The build-up pressure in my head with so many episodes just kills me. Be and Cass assured me that I will not regret it. So I marched to DSS back in September, and started my suicidal obsession. I cringed so bad because not only I will stuck with a 133-episode drama, but I have no way out once I started it *bites nails*

So where I am now? Episode 105!Don’t worry, I’m still liking it. Each episode is about 30 minutes long, so it makes it easier for my watch. Funny thing is I don’t really feel pressured now. Plus, the story is very pleasant. I must admit, this family drama is nothing compared to Crazy Love and Thorn Birds. I’m all prepared, if you must ask. I couldn’t get angry at all… I’ve seen the worse *evil laugh* And to make it better, this is by far the best family Korean drama I’ve seen lately. The angst is peace of cake, I tell ya… I cannot get angry at all! Yes, yes… I’ve been tamed completely by Crazy Love and Thorn Birds. I’m no longer a wild, cursing woman you know this summer…

Amuden, Ugly Alert unites two families from two different background through marriage. A father with his gregarious son and a mother of two (a daughter and a son). The children grew up very sadly after both parents died at early age. The eldest son from the father side, Jun Su, is a very innovative, thrifty and money-savvy person. He took care of the household and did numerous odd job to support his siblings. He sacrificed his education so both his step siblings can focus on their study. He successfully did his duty until one day, he decided to take the blame for an accidental death (murder) caused by his brother, Hyeon Seok. The sacrifice Jun Su made in replace of his brother is the most beautiful thing one could do for his family. And even after years later, he remained mum about it and still defended his decision as being the best thing he had done for his family.

This is a long drama so I’m not going to spill any of it. And being that it just won for awards in the SBS channel, this is a drama you need to watch. It is definitely worth your time! I just can’t imagine how patient I am with Ugly Alert but because the stories are so engaging and fascinating, this is absolutely one of the best daily drama I’ve seen in awhile!
