Currently Watching: BG – Personal Bodyguard

I really did not want to watch it but this drama lines up great actors I knew I will regret skipping it. This show ended two weeks ago and we are currently waiting for the final two episodes to get subbed. Honestly, after finishing episode 7 this morning, I really hope that the next episode will get subbed soon. I am desperately in need of an answer! And a miracle! Could I get both?

Currently Watching: Akira to Akira

So glad that Akira to Akira is finally subbed. This currently airing drama is my current obsession. Well, Saito is an added bonus, of course! *laughs* But really, you have to believe me when I said I’m obsessed with this drama. Why? It reminds me of Midas, a Korean drama by Jang Hyuk. Though the base of the dramas is similar, the stories are completely different. Akira to Akira is a hearty drama that focuses on friendship, relationship, inheritance, and life. And most of all, the background of this drama is circa financial sector in the 80s.

Just Watched: Hirugao

I got drawn into this drama because of my good friend, Maki. Yes, we squee regularly on Saito and she loves spamming me with (illegal) photos of this hawt man! She recently spammed me with Hirugao (the movie) trailers and I knew that it is time to start watching the drama. I heard the movie is independent of the drama but I think it is worth understanding the history of the main OTP. I mean… c’mon, I will do whatever I could to have sultry Saito on my screen. Saito Saito Saito! I hate sharing but he’s worth sharing *wink*. He is juicy like that *giggle*.

Currently Watching: Unmei ni, Nita Koi

Who is here for Saito Takumi? *raises hand* ME ME ME!!!!! And Bel. Anddddddddd…… Mrs. Bagnet! Yes yes, she’s my new watching girlfriend. The three of us squee like schoolgirls! Especially with Mrs. B, the minute she hit the play button, she automatically transform to a 14 year old girl! And not just that, she continuously running out of breath. To be honest, I have supplied all my oxygen tanks to her…. I’m running out now *laughs*. Okay, okay… Let’s be serious and focus on this cheesy drama.

Unmei ni, Nita Koi is also known as A Destiny-Like Love. I guess the title give it all. The couple is destined to be together. But are they? The story line was predictable in the beginning but as you started to invest your feelings toward it, you will begin to feel pain that ultimately divide you to whether to go along on this wonderful and cheesy ride, or let the truth guide you to the end. I am torn. The ladies felt that death will be the final destiny for this drama. They are smart because the reality seems to be heading in that direction. Whereas for me, I want to continue to live in the cheesy bubble. This is all but just a dream. I do not want to think that death is the end goal *sigh*

So the story began with Kasumi, a divorced 45 old woman working in a dry cleaning service company. Her life is difficult. Her ex husband is a useless man; he continuously gambling his money away and always beg from Kasumi for more money. This is madness, she does not know how to turn him down. Together, they have a teen son with a bright career in sports. One catch about the son. He has a cute stalker. She has taken many photos of Kasumi’s son. Eventually she got caught by him and they are now, let’s say, in the process of blooming together. Their stories are the least of my worry.

Yuri is a famous furniture designer. He’s been all over Kasumi’s face. They got to know each other because Kasumi delivers his clothes to his condo. He has been trying to get her attention; she is doubting his every moves. But by episode 3, she realized he meant no harm and his intention was pure genuine. As their love progress, she realized he embodied of the boy she liked during her childhood time. He is definitely younger than her. Kasumi hesitated to start this relationship due to their different background. Her mother-in-law, bless her soul, encouraged her to be brave and start this journey. And so she did. So, what could be wrong in this relationship?

Actually? Nothing! Prior to Kasumi, Yuri has a f*ck buddy, Maho-san or as we called her as Harpy *laughs*. She was furious when Yuri left her for Kasumi. She is now determined to ruin him and his career. On top of that, Yuri is enslaved to his mentor. He feels guilty that the mentor’s son died instead of him; he therefore devoted his guilt life for the mentor. These two are the villains in Unmei ni, Nita Koi. They are the worse of the worse. They are extremely selfish because all they ever did was using Yuri for their own personal gain.

When Kasumi suspected that Yuri is the boy she fell in love with, she was extremely happy and shocked that she finally able to rekindle with him. But later on she noticed that Yuri works with his right hand whereas the Yuri she remembered was left-handed. Yuri was able to push away her doubt. Kasumi and her simple minded life did not question it any further. But this led to Yuri’s deep secret. He’s not the real Amori, the real boy’s name. This secret could go either way with Kasumi. So Yuri have been using Amori’s memories to seek Kasumi. Another secret is that Amori is the mentor’s son. The last twist I saw by episode 6 was that Yuri is dying!

I just saw episode 7 with the ladies and we have another episode to go. This 8-episode drama was nothing but cheesy in the beginning. The lines got my hair standing up. I wonder how these actors feel when delivering the cheesy lines for us to squee and drools *laughs*. I would feel so embarrassed but hey, it is their job to deliver it and they did it well. And Saito and his hair oh em geeeeeeeeee… He made our ovaries exploded over and over again! His every move in this drama is deemed sexy! Nothing less *giggles*. We are dying to see the end of it. This show could go either way. Yuri may ends up dead. Or not. Kasumi may walk away after knowing the truth about Yuri. Or not. If you are as curious as I am, let’s watch it together! Plus, you always need Saito dose because he’s the schmexy Japanese man on earth!

By the way, Unmei ni, Nita Koi is a soft porno drama *laughs* just so you know *giggles*.

Currently Watching: Rinsho Hanzai Gakusha Himura Hideo no Suiri

shaggyEach time I start watching this drama with a freaking long title, shaggy dogs came to mind *laughs*. You’ll know when you see them. Their hair is so long it covers their eyes. I really don’t know how they see the world with those long bangs! Should I just cut it? Ooooh and apparently I’m not the only one who is bothered with their hair. green_tokki and blg are, too!!! *laughs*! See, Bel? I’m not alone! Another thing why I look forward to this drama is the background music. The music makes this drama 10 times cooler even though the boys are already cool! Alright, fine…. Let’s attempt to say the title: Rinsho Hanzai Gakusha Himura Hideo no Suiri. There! I said it! It’s a handful! But unlike the title, the show is not a handful at all!

So what is…. this drama about? Himura Hideo is a criminologist professor who has this urge to kill people. Of course, with that in mind, Himura is able to figure out criminal’s next move. Arisu Arisugawa is Himura’s trustworthy sidekick. He’s a mediocre writer who sticks by Himura for inspiration. The odd couple works together in solving criminal cases with the police department. Somehow, each case leads Himura to another level. The case became complicated and rather mysterious. In the beginning, it reminds me of Sherlock Holmes but not until their hair took over my lives!

Saito as Himura Hideo is pretty eccentric. Kubota as Arisu is pretty…. hmmm clumsy? Off the track? Either way, Arisu is just like me. He can’t think deeper…. How in the world he’s going to be a writer? *scratches head* But he fills in the gap where Himura is lacking, and vice versa. The show is 10 episodes long and so far, 7 episodes have aired. Would I recommend it to you, though? I am not sure I would. The plots are all over the place. The writer seems to be having a hard time organizing his thoughts. I do enjoy it but sometimes, I feel lost. The current case with Akemi and her fear of fire and sunset was stretched into two episodes long. Even that, I do not think it is still solved. Oh well, whatever… Since I’m deep into this drama already, I might as well finish it. I’m not a quitter!!!!

Currently Watching: Ishitachi no Renai Jijo aka Doctor’s Affairs

I have lost my count on how many Japanese dramas I have seen this year. It’s a good thing because I really want to spread my watch horizon to more Japanese shows. I’m not bored with Korean dramas but lately I found myself not into it as much as before. But changes is good, right? I think I should broaden up a bit so I can see dramas from different perspective. Now back to Doctor’s Affairs… As always, Bel recommended it to me. Gosh, she knows which good drama to watch! This jdrama is so addictive! And I’m a bit addicted with this male lead doc! Wow, look at him! His looks is extremely unique! There is something sexy and charming about him. The way he carries himself is just… wow!

Doctor’s Affairs is a 12-episode drama and 6 episodes aired so far. In the beginning, I sort of hesitant to watch it because it is a medic drama. I’m not into medical drama because it intimidates me big time with all these genius terms! Puhhhleeeez, just speak in commoners language! Also, I’m not good with blood so I was afraid I will get queasy. Well, my brave soul told me to give it a go and so I did. So far it has been great and I was able to avoid feeling nauseated while watching! Phew. Imagine if I faint while watching it… I might as well go for nap or sleep, right? *laughs*

Doctor’s Affairs is a marriage between Doctor X and Second Love. Morita Sensei transferred to a prestigious university hospital as a surgeon but disagree with the way the hospital is running. Mikio-san lead the hospital as the Chief Finance and he prioritize wealthy patients. Morita sensei disapproves of the system and prefers to help patients no matter their backgrounds are and all he cares is to save the patients. Morita sensei met Kondo sensei, a senior surgeon who is much older than him. But to him, it was love at first sight and he tried to get closer to her more and more. He even assisted her in surgery. What got me hook to Doctor’s Affairs is how charismatic and genuine Morita sensei is and I, too, fell in love with him at first sight! Kondo sensei started to develop that attachment with him as well but she’s very concerned over her age against him. I am not surprised. At that age, I’m sure she’s very alert and self aware of herself, and taking a suitor younger than her age can be intimidating as well as nerve-wrecking.

1065391v_1504101744_5Well, if you have seen Second Love, the age was not an issue with Kei and same goes with Morita sensei. I predict happy ending with Doctor’s Affairs. But unlike Second Love, this drama does not have racy scenes yet still able to make your heart goes dugun dugun *wink*. The progress of love is slow for both doctors as they are occupied in saving lives and plus, the first 6 episodes seem to focus on taking care of business. What that means? Kondo’s ex-fiancee came back, Morita’s mother needs surgery for her illness and his ex-girlfriend came back for treatment. Now that all these are taken care of, I hope the next 6 episodes will give us more love development between the two doctors. This drama is light and calm, and I see no issue with angst whatsoever. I highly suggest you watching it if you want are into a calm, medic drama.
