Currently Watching: Doctor John

I spent my weekend marathoning Doctor John! I started the first four episodes in Malaysia but did not get to continue. It felt good to continue watching this drama. Ji Sung never fails me and he is the reason I am watching Doctor John. I guess he is the reason I can handle this medical drama. There were not many bloody scenes as I thought it would be; thank goodness I survive. Now before this drama, I know nothing about pain management. But now, I am very curious. Even got me google for it!

Just Watched: Liver or Die

I am so relieved Liver or Die ended! The only show I was so addicted to despite my travel! Yet, this was my only show that frustrated me the most! So why did I continue watching it? It was the great power of Yoo Joon Sang! My fabulous oppa! And yet, his character is the worse ever! I wish him dead too many times! Yeah, really! He and his 4 siblings! They all raised my blood pressure. Except for the final episode, I spent my time angry, annoyed and frustrated with all 39 episodes. Damn, Liver or Die is a daily drama on prime time! Who approved this show?

Currently Watching: Avengers Social Club

Well, this is a drama I unexpectedly enjoy from the beginning. I don’t know… sisterhood and friendship genre drama is so awesome and I’m always drawn to it. Like Girls’ Generation 1979, I binge marathon this drama up to episode 9. It was the greatest feeling ever to watch sisterhood of a different kind unite for a revenge. Now, even though I mentioned sisterhood, this drama made an exception – the group accepted a young man to be a part of their club. It makes it more interesting because now the revenge is mutual.

Currently Watching: The K2

I don’t know what got into me that I decided to watch The K2. To be honest, I wanted to watch something dear hub would get excited. Clearly by mid episode 1 he fell asleep. I’m not surprised. I, on the other hand, was hoping that The K2 will be as cool as Healer, Cruel City or City Hunter. Yes, I had expectation. It’s rare but I did. Clearly I should have not because as of right now, I really want to drop it. Especially after seeing episode 13. But I’m too deep into the drama to back out. Many people advise me to drop it. I know I should have. But since The K2 is ending this week, I feel I might as well give it a go. Two more episodes… Two more episodes. I can do this.

So, if you are watching this drama, I’m sure you know why I want to drop this show. In the beginning, I was looking forward to see the romance between the bodyguard aka Je Ha and Anna, the candidate’s daughter. I was hoping for the sweet, sweet love blossom into a secret garden. And then something else happened. Choi Yoo Jin. Anna’s stepmom. Je Ha’s sleek move from taking Yoo Jin as his hostage into saving her life from local terrorist, then and there I, and I’m sure all of us who are watching it too, saw myself shipping them instead. This is absolute wrong! Where is this writer taking us??? The woman who power craze falling for her stepdaughter’s bodyguard? And what’s more, she herself feeling jealousy when she saw Anna’s love for Je Ha?

Yeah, it is wrong. This is why most of us who saw it dropped it. I understand how they feel. But I remain calm and curious. The if questions in my head keep me from dropping the show. And I somewhat glad I did not. I saw her true feeling for Je Ha by the end of episode 14. What’s more, when Je Ha revealed her childish love to her (and in front of the doctor), I can’t help but to evil laugh at her! Choi Yoo Jin secretly in love with Je Ha and wants him to be her slave. Not in this life, woman! Do you know how old you are? Oooh I forgot, money buys everything.

What I love about The K2 is Choi Yoo Jin herself. She is a two-faced villain. Her portrayal of  a ladylike wife to presidential candiate Jang See Joon in the limelight and a mastermind for her husband’s election as well as taking everyone down is something only a perfect villain could do. Yoo Jin is perfect. It’s been her dream from young. She killed Anna’s mom, married her dad and granted his wish to run for the presidential candidate. She is willing to do everything. All for herself. All because she is a chaebol daughter. Truly, money buys everything including her puppet, See Joon.

What I hate about The K2 is Anna. I definitely feel they cast the wrong actress. I love sweet Yoona but her portrayal as the damsel is weak and dull. I can’t feel her love for Je Ha. I can’t feel her motivation to revenge for her late mom. I can’t feel her driven to want to escape the life she’s currently in. I feel that the writer did not develop Anna’s character well enough. This makes me sad. Another undeveloped main character going down the drain… Sorry, Yoona. I hope you get a better role next time.

As I said before, The K2 will end this week. What I’m hoping from this show? Happy ending, of course. I really want to see Choi Yoo Jin going down and hoping as she going down to hell, she will drag all her evil minions and peers with her, too. I want to see how this writer punish Yoo Jin for her evil sins. I really hope for justice. I also hope that See Joon will not win the election simply because his motive isn’t right. He may have the face but his mind and soul are corrupt! Finally, I do want to see Je Ha and Anna love one another. This is easy. The not so easy part is to watch the final two episodes.

Will I recommend the show? No, I will not recommend this show. This Cinderella and Snow White like drama is awesome but the characters are poorly written and the writer lost his/her grip with the story line. There is nothing a director can do about the story even though the performance and execution were done at 1000%. I can see Ji Chang Wook and Song Yoon Ah gave all they can in this drama. I really hope this writer will do his/her homework in future. It is a shame that this drama is turning very shallow. If you do decide to watch it anyway, please do not expect another Healer. It is not. I am disappointed. I will choose my next drama wisely.

Currently Watching: Cinderella and the Four Knights

If you ask me what is my weekend krack drama, Cinderella and the Four Knights is my answer! Yeap, this drama gets tons of love from me! I look forward to my weekend more and more now! The show is super cheesy, super funny, super annoying, super crappy and YET, I’m still watching it! I found it fascinating to watch each character especially the four knights. The chemistry can be a bit off but that’s okay because I really, really am, enjoying it to the max. Is it Friday yet??? *giggle*

Amuden, I’m glad tvN finally takes up on this show. A few of my tlists are not fond of the show. Cinderella is not everyone’s cup of Joe. But it is my weekend krack! I was upset that Age of Youth ended short and now I’m binging on Cinderella like an addict. But after this week’s episode, I’m starting to question my own judgement. Well, mainly because I’m frustrated with two characters in the show. If you have seen my crazy tweets, you will know who I’m talking about. I think I share my mutual annoy with everyone. Yes, I’m annoyed. ANNOYED!

So far, 10 episodes have aired. We have 6 episodes to go. Right now, some secrets are out. Like the identity of our handsome secretary. We know our boys and their crazy lifestyles and inheritance problems. We know Ha Won’s dad is not her real dad now and she ran away from home because she feels unwelcomed. But what she doesn’t know is that her stepmom is trying to find her real dad. Whether this will be a good thing or not, we shall find out. For all I hope, her stepmom’s bad intention could backfire her. I really can’t wait! *evil laugh*

Cinderella and the Four Knights is just as you would imagine. Ha-Won is the Cinderella. By chance, of course. Hyun Min hired her to stand in as his fiancee for few hours so he can retaliate on his harabeoji’s wedding. But when he acted all royal and disrespect to his grandpa in front of Ha-Won, she couldn’t help but to step in and make him apologize to his grandpa publicly. Hyun Min was deeply embarrassed by his date and quarreled with her. They parted off that night and like the typical Cinderella story, Ha-Won left the wedding venue shoeless. However, her departure left a good impression on someone. That someone is the harabeoji.

Immediately, harabeoji proposed Ha-Won the world. A mansion home, a guaranteed paid to a prestige university and stipends. Her mission: to unite the three stubborn cousins (along with the secretary bodyguard) and open their eyes to love, family, and friendship. Will Ha-Won succeed? So far she did well but we will have to see… I really enjoy Park So Dam as Ha-Won. She’s refreshing and her bright smile is what I look for mostly. If you are interested in reading recaps, please head over to my dear friend Jaime‘s blog, The Drama Noona. I would recommend this silly drama if you need a chuckle and a good laugh. Please do not take it personally like me, though… Yeah, I am because of those two characters *laugh*.
